Wital: A COTS WiFi Devices Based Vital Signs Monitoring System Using NLOS Sensing Model

چکیده

Vital sign (breathing and heartbeat) monitoring is essential for patient care sleep disease prevention. Most current solutions are based on wearable sensors or cameras; however, the former could affect quality, while latter often present privacy concerns. To address these shortcomings, we propose Wital, a contactless vital system low-cost widespread commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Wi-Fi devices. There two challenges that need to be overcome. First, torso deformations caused by breathing/heartbeats weak. How can such effectively captured? Second, movements as turning over accuracy of monitoring. detrimental effects avoided? For former, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) sensing model modeling relationship between energy ratio line-of-sight (LOS) NLOS signals capability using Ricean K theory use this guide construction better capture breathing/heartbeats. latter, motion segmentation method regularity detection accurately distinguishes respiration from other motions, remove periods include eliminate effects. We have implemented validated Wital COTS The experimental results demonstrate effectiveness in signs.

Implementation of Vital Signs Monitoring System Using Wireless Networks

This paper presents a vital signs monitoring system using wireless networks in Thailand. The system consists of vital signs measurements including electrocardiogram and heart rate. In addition to the health information of patients that is monitored, the location of patients specified using the global positioning system (GPS) is employed in the system. A prototype of the system has been develope...

Wearable system for vital signs monitoring.

A new concept in healthcare, aimed at providing continuous remote monitoring of user's vital signs, is emerging. An innovative system named WEALTHY is presented, where conducting and piezoresistive materials in the form of fiber and yarn are integrated and used as sensor and electrode elements. The simultaneous recording of vital signs allows parameter extrapolation and inter-signal elaboration...

DistancePPG: Robust non-contact vital signs monitoring using a camera

Vital signs such as pulse rate and breathing rate are currently measured using contact probes. But, non-contact methods for measuring vital signs are desirable both in hospital settings (e.g. in NICU) and for ubiquitous in-situ health tracking (e.g. on mobile phone and computers with webcams). Recently, camera-based non-contact vital sign monitoring have been shown to be feasible. However, came...

Continuous Monitoring of Vital Signs Using Wearable Devices on the General Ward: Pilot Study

BACKGROUND Measurement of vital signs in hospitalized patients is necessary to assess the clinical situation of the patient. Early warning scores (EWS), such as the modified early warning score (MEWS), are generally calculated 3 times a day, but these may not capture early deterioration. A delay in diagnosing deterioration is associated with increased mortality. Continuous monitoring with weara...
